Anybody know what song the title of this post is from? Big kudos if you do!
Andrew and I took a trip to the state fair last Thursday, and I snapped a few photos once it got dark enough for the lights to really pop. We are too cheap to actually ride the rides, but we did enjoy some food (a philly cheesteak for Andrew and a gyro for me), watch crazy divers jump from a 50-foot platform and walk around the photography exhibit for quite a while.
I know I've said it before, but I just love the state fair. It's not quite the same to go to Utah's when I grew up going to the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot and checking out my purple ribbons in the 4-H booths (yes, I was a 4-H nerd, and no, I still don't enjoy sewing). But it's full of smoked turkey legs, corn dogs, ponies, music, Ferris wheels and carousels, and it's an excuse once a year to go a little crazy.
Stay tuned for a video of an amazing military band that I wanted to follow through the entire fairgrounds (and probably would have, had I not been starving and needing to find food)!

Wake me up when September ends
The title of this post is actually not meant to be negative -- the Green Day song was just what came to mind when I was trying to come up with something that described this month. :) It has been busy, busy, busy -- and it's only the middle of the month! I decided to post a few photos of things we've been up to lately:
While this technically wasn't in September, we celebrated Andrew's mom's birthday August 28 in Millcreek Canyon. The weather was beautiful, and it was fun to spend time with a few of Andrew's siblings and their kids.
On September 9, we waited out the rainstorm and crazy lightning that followed us to the Usana to see Rascal Flatts!
It was Andrew's birthday present, and we had a lot of fun -- apart from the guy sitting behind us who had a particular love for the F-word, the crazy DJ who kept asking how the crowd was doing in a Rex Kwon Do voice (I am NOT exaggerating) and the morons in the parking lot who made us wait for an hour just to get on the road home.
We capped off a crazy month with a trip to the Utah State Fair on Tuesday, where we ate yummy burritos, drank watermelon water, walked around the photography displays and took tons of pictures of the rides at night. I am in LOVE with Ferris wheels!
I hope you're all having a wonderful September, too! Maybe soon things will slow down!

All's Fair in Love

I am getting better at being domestic, and I made some yummy chili tonight for Andrew! Yayah! We are slowly getting our house the way we want it, and I'm getting used to having no cell phone reception (it's a basement apartment) and not turning the dial on the stove until it clicks (otherwise the broiler stays on and heats the entire house).
We are also planning to start a photo blog, so I'll post the new blog for that here when it's up. I'll also be getting the wedding pictures soon, so a few of those will make it up here, too. I chopped my hair off on Thursday and I'm still getting used to it, so there will probably be more pictures of that, too. :)
Andrew has been awesome and still makes me so incredibly happy! He brought me tissues and searched 3 different Redboxes for a DVD I wanted to watch the other night when my cold was out of control. He went grocery shopping alone late at night when I'd had a bad day that involved two DMVs, a Social Security office, bad traffic and an empty gas tank. And he always kisses me good night.
