Live to work

So I've been slacking off with the blog lately because I've been incredibly busy at work -- and absolutely LOVING it.

I haven't really talked much about my new job because I've been afraid to talk about how bad the old one was. Well, I'm not afraid anymore, and I will tell you -- that job was 18 months of hell. I came home almost every day crying to Andrew and absolutely miserable. I dreaded getting up in the morning and was SO tired at work. I didn't feel valued by my boss and was actually accused of threatening her because I stood up for myself when they were doing something that was wrong.

In April, though, everything changed. I am so HAPPY when I come home from work now. I have free reign over the CHG Pulse website and get to write feature stories about employees and meet new people daily. My supervisor gave me a sweet gift on my three-month anniversary and just sent me a flower gram during United Way Week.

Yesterday, at about 3 p.m., Vanessa (my co-worker/supervisor) told me I could leave at any time because of the holiday. If I had still been at Overstock, I would have had everything wrapped up and been out the door in five minutes. I actually stayed at work until 4:30 because I was excited about the stories I was working on, and because I really feel so dedicated to this company and want to work hard.

Just wanted to share why I've been so happy! I wish you all the same!
