One fish, two fish

So, as promised, here is a picture of our cute little aquarium. It's not a great image, as our apartment has very poor lighting, but you can see our little Molly and Tetra fish.

We actually started with two Mollies and three Tetra, but one Molly jumped out soon after we got him and I found a Tetra dead when I got home from work today. So sad! We have been feeding them, put fresh bamboo in their aquarium and installed a heater so the water would be warm. Thus, we haven't gotten too attached to them because we never know when they'll be dead. :(

I do love the aquarium, though. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it has this whole Zen thing going for it. The top basket is actually a little trickling waterfall with stones in it, and it's completely square. I love how it doesn't look like a traditional one at all, even though it is very small and limits the types of fish we can have.

We also went to Lava Hot Springs this weekend to meet up with my family and ate yummy pizza at the Royal Hotel down the street. I annoyed my brother by plunking quarters in the digital jukebox and making everyone listen to the Bee Gees, Johnny Cash and Montgomery Gentry. I would have kept going, but a little kid punched in "Don't Stop Believing" and stole my last quarter. Rude.

I love three-day weekends. :)

  2. It's true...as with most animals that the madsen family has had, they really do all end up dead. I feel for ya. haha

  3. Also, I failed to mention the two fish that I won at a fair when I was 5 by throwing the little ping pong ball into those little bowls. We named them Fred and Ginger because they kept eating each other. Pretty soon my mom was like, "just flush them down the toilet so they can go home to their family." Yeah, the toilet doesn't lead to the ocean. So traumatizing.
