As they walked and walked and walked and walked

It's Pioneer Day! Sadly, I am in Utah now and away from the fun parade and musical that marks the 24th of July weekend every year. However, I thought I'd share a story I wrote about my great-great grandmother, Matilda Stolworthy Staker. Some of you may have already read it, because it was published in the October 2010 issue of the Friend, but I thought I'd share "New Shoes for Tillie" with you anyway. :)

Enjoy! It always makes me appreciate my pioneer ancestors more each time I read it.

  1. I missed the celebrations of the 24th this year too since I'm in Utah. Next year, right?
