I've been wanting to write that title for SO LONG. You have no idea. So...I haven't blogged in about a month and a half because I moved into my new apartment and subsequently did not yet have internet (or TV, but that is another story). I have decided, then, to do a bit of a catch-up as I am currently at home in Idaho for a few days.
Life is good. I've been at Overstock.com for a little over two months now, and it's been fun. And, since a lot of people have been confused about what I actually do for the company, I've included my articles here. Essentially, what I do is write and edit articles for search engines to find as a marketing campaign to drive traffic to the Web site. Thus, I currently am quite proud of my "How to Wear a Sweater Dress" article. Once I've written or fixed other articles, I code them for the Web with html and add photos. If you do happen to read them, be aware that they're not exactly thrilling to read. Consider yourself warned.
In other news, I am thrilled that the Friend is still publishing my stuff, even this workshop that I did for Christmas. Yes, I know it's a bit late, but you can totally make the food and the decorations now anyway. And if the boring text version isn't cool enough (which it really isn't), you can see it as a PDF by clicking the "View" tab at the top.
I've also decided to get permission from the Friend to send one of my manuscripts, "New Shoes for Tillie," to a publishing company. The managing editors at the magazine think it would make a great children's story, and I'm SO flattered! I'm hoping to send it soon and get started on the process. You may see my name on a hardcover book yet!
Since I have no parakeets or dogs (heaven forbid) to take a holiday picture with yet, this is a current pic of me in my new apartment right after a fabulous day in frigid temperatures. I'm planning to post a blog of my apartment soon, now that we've hung all these pictures and I've spent too much on furniture and throw pillows.
Anyway, merry Christmas! I hope you're all having the happiest of holidays. More to come soon!
Yay, you blogged!
ReplyDeleteRemember... when you get your book published to recommend your own personal illustrator... you know, that Thorkelson dude. ;) Seriously!!
Lindsay! You look great and sound like you're having fun! Congrats on the Friend and publishing stuff. That's so awesome! If you do get published I will totally buy the book for my kids!
ReplyDeleteLindsay,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry we weren't able to get together when I was in SLC. Blame it on Ryan Kunz. KUNZ!
BTW, I think you should write a children's book.
Pete.
