A prior engagement

Most of you are already aware of this if you've checked Facebook or your phones, but...I'M ENGAGED! I'M GETTING MARRIED!

Andrew took me to Memory Grove, this park in the Avenues in Salt Lake City, and surprised me by suddenly getting down on one knee when we were taking pictures with his tripod. I could hardly breathe, and I had my face covered with my hands from shock.

No matter how much you love someone and how long you've anticipated the day when he will ask you a simple question, it still takes your breath away when this incredible man of your dreams asks you to spend the rest of your life with him.

OF COURSE I said yes, and the date is August 6 in the Idaho Falls Temple. It's absolutely crazy to think that I'm trying on wedding dresses tomorrow, and I have a gorgeous sparkly ring on my finger to show the world that I'm taken -- I'm Andrew's girl for eternity. :)

Now that I've got the happy news out of the way, I just want to ask those of you who know me and my family really well to do something for us. Please pray for my youngest brother, Reggie, who has been in the hospital since last Thursday with a terrible sickness. I don't want to go into details, but I have faith that continued prayers for him will help him to heal. He is in the Lord's hands, and he will make a full recovery. I love him SO MUCH, and I wish I could instantly make him better, but only the Savior can do that.

Thank you so much for your faith and for your congratulations on my engagement! It is absolutely thrilling to be so in love -- and in love with the right person at the right time.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS LINDSAY! I found your blog a while back and I occasionally check in because your entries are always such a joy to read - yeah, that probably sounds like something an 80-year old aunt would say, but it's true! Good luck to you and Andrew!
