I am normally EXTREMELY sarcastic when it comes to Valentine's Day, probably because I've seen too much "yucky love stuff," as Julia Roberts calls it in My Best Friend's Wedding, from my brother, whose girlfriend actually appreciated it. I've complained about chalky candy hearts and people who buy gigantic teddy bears for their girlfriend.
But today, two days BEFORE Valentine's Day, I walked in to THIS:
Oh, yes. My entire room was covered with heart-shaped confetti, streamers, balloons, decorations on the walls and heart-shaped chocolates. I was COMPLETELY floored.
Not only that, Andrew sent me flowers at work, a gigantic bouquet of roses, carnations and lilies -- and I never told him that lilies are my favorite flower, not that I remember. I've never had a special someone to share Valentine's Day with, and now I have someone so incredible I can hardly believe it's real.
I love you, Andrew. Happy Valentine's Day!
